APHA Board Election 2021
We are delighted to introduce our two newly appointed APHA Board Members, Bohemia Hookham, Heather McCabe and Cameron Munro.
Bohemia Hookham
Bohemia has been appointed Research lead on the APHA Board.
Bohemia is passionate about regenerative design and biophilic architecture and is committed to Passive House as an exemplary way to achieve healthy, resilient building solutions to reduce carbon emissions. In her 6+ years of professional experience, she has worked across sectors including Residential, Defence, Early Learning Centres, Education, Sport and Recreation, and Community Centres/Libraries. She also holds a Bachelor of Environments (Architecture), and Master of Architecture, both from the University of Melbourne, and is passionate about education as a tool to further improve the built environment towards a more regenerative future.
Heather McCabe
Heather will be joining our Research team on the APHA Board.
Heather is deeply passionate about passive house design and would like to see it become much more widely adopted here in Australia. She is excited to join the APHA board to be an advocate for this.
Cameron Munro
Cameron is taking the role of Chapters Lead on the APHA Board.
Cameron is very pleased to assist APHA’s mission in spreading the word about the role Passive House can play in addressing the climate crisis and creating healthy, durable and resilient buildings. One of the greatest aspects of the Passive House community has been the willingness to share experience and help one another expand our knowledge. He's hopeful we can maintain that sharing, community spirit as we move into the next phase of Passive House growth in Australia as we look forward to the day when Passive House is the default, mainstream building standard.
All Board members who re-stood for election were also appointed, being:
Kate Nason (Appointed as Chairperson)
Talina Edwards (Appointed as Deputy Chairperson and returning as Director - Partnerships and Major Events)
Joe Mercieca (Returning as Director - Partnership and Major Events)
John Beurle (Appointed as Director - Partnerships and Major Events)
Darren O'Dea (Returning as Director - Technical Working Group)
Our thanks to our outgoing board members, Chris Nunn our Chairperson for the past five years, Kylie Mills, and Joel Seagren, who have each made such significant contributions to the growth and profile of APHA over the years.
AGM minutes will be available for members to access on the APHA website in due course.
