Kate Nason appointed as Chairperson on the APHA Board

The Australian Passive House Association is extremely proud to announce the appointment of Kate Nason as Chairperson, one of the youngest females to undertake a board Chair role in Australia.

As both an experienced architect and building designer, Kate brings a wealth of knowledge in the sustainability space, currently holding the position of Sustainability Advisor with Frasers Property Australia.

A passionate advocate of high-performance, healthy, and resilient buildings, Kate has worked across multiple low-energy and Certified Passive House projects such as the Monash Gillies Hall, plus several single residential homes utilising low carbon prefabricated construction systems. She has recently been involved in a range of sustainable community developments with Development Victoria, as well as stand-alone buildings targeting zero-carbon status. She is a certified Passive House Designer, Green Star Accredited Professional, and was previously awarded the Byera Hadley Travelling Scholarship by the NSW Architects Registration Board.

"I'm incredibly honoured to have the opportunity to work along side the executive team here at APHA. The industry is at a critical point where we will see the exponential growth of Passivhaus projects over the coming years. Along with the newly appointed Deputy Chair, Talina Edwards, I'm really looking forward to contributing to the upscaling of capacity in our industry by supporting our passionate membership and team in this new role."

Kate has already made a huge impact during her time on the APHA board as Director of Partnerships and Major Events, and we are excited to see what the future holds for APHA under her leadership.

Our sincere thanks to Kate’s predecessor, Chris Nunn, whose significant contribution to the growth and profile of APHA, as well as Passive House in Australia, cannot be understated.
