Thanks to the fantastic leadership of our previous CEO, Staff, Chapter Representatives and Board Members, our organisation is growing 20% year on year. This is great news for the Passive House standard in Australia where we are well known for outcomes in the single dwelling residential sector. As APHA evolves we will need to release ourselves and break into other influencing other project typologies as our counterparts have internationally.
We are seeking to attract Executive Leaders with the following skills and exposure.

The Australian Passive House Association is seeking General Board Members and a Company Secretary.
First and foremost, we are seeking individuals that support the passive house standard and have a strong driver towards climate change action.
• Are you an experienced and visionary leader that knows how to influence clients and drive change?
• Do you have strong commercial and financial acumen?
• Are you able to articulate the way policy impacts supply chain outcomes and the areas of improvement?
• Do you know how to identify and address organizational risks?
Targeted Board Experience Level
• At least 10+ years of experience at an Executive Leadership level
• Leading a business or business unit
• Responsible for the engagement of their firm across a large number of projects and client strategies (the organisation might be large or small)
• Strong Influencer, negotiator and strategic decision maker
• Prior association board experience highly desirable
• Experience and confident public speaker
• Risk identification and risk management experience
• Well networked with business and government leaders
• Commercial acumen - Experience in BD and growing a business, understands business finances able to confidently read financial statements
• Provide insight into policy, strategic, operational, procurement, financial, contractual and supply chain matters within their area of experience such as construction, architecture, engineering, property development
• Experience working across the following project sectors - Single Dwelling Residential, Residential Public and Social, Residential Multi-storey, Education, Build to Rent, Health
What’s required of a General Board Member
• Attendance at Board Meetings
• Review and comment on documentation when required
• Support opening doors and providing introductions to key contacts to influence such as people in government, potential client groups
• Practical guidance to how the policies and approaches of institutions can be better understood to increase the adoption of passive house
• Support attending advocacy meetings
• Approximately 4-5 hours a month
• Attendance our bi-annual conference
• Attend APHA local events 1-2 times a year
• Act as an APHA spokesperson as needed
What’s not required
• Involvement in the day to day operations of the organisation
• Guidance on events and event content - we have State Chapters who are responsible for connecting on a local level with events
• Day to day directives to staff
