Welcome Back to the APHA Board, Darren O'Dea!
In July 2020, APHA Board Director Richard Stokes resigned his position due to family and work commitments. Richard will continue to advocate for Passive House Certification through his work, and remains a strong supporter of APHA's mission. APHA sincerely thanks Richard for his service to the Board and for the valuable contribution he's made to date.
Section 27 of APHA's constitution provides that a board position becomes vacant if a Director resigns. Section 26 provides that if such a vacancy arises, the Board may appoint a replacement Director, provided the appointment occurs more than 3 months before the next AGM, and that a Director so appointed will hold office until the next AGM.
The Board approached Darren O'Dea to step in as a Director and also to chair the Technical Working Group, which is a key role that Richard Stokes was performing. As a former long standing APHA board director, and previous chair of the APHA board, and as a recognised technical expert Darren is highly suited to fill this vacancy and to chair the technical working group. We are delighted that he's accepted and is now a member of the APHA board. This position will come up for election at the next AGM which will be held at a date to be determined in the fourth quarter of 2020.
